The Antica Corte Pallavicina was built in 1320 by the Marquis Pallavicino right close to the River Po, with spacious and luxurius rooms on the ground floor and wide cellars where the excellent gastronomic products of their small fief were stored. After nearly 700 years, these cellars, rich in noble moulds and humidity, are still today the place where the famous Culatelli are matured, thanks to the work and production of the Spigaroli family. Now the castle, after an almost 20-year-long refurbishment, has been trasformed into a small country relais with six beautiful rooms, a relax area and the restaurant room made out of the greenhouse looking onto the river. The cuisine, personally run by the Chef Massimo Spigaroli, is inspired to the territory and its evolution. The raw materials are all raised and cultivated in the family farm adjacent to the castle.
