The island of Elba can be easily reach by car by embarking at Piombino, where the navigation Companies Toremar and Moby Lines feature several ferries which, during the summer period, cover this route many times a day. In less than an hour navigation, you wil cover the 10 km which divide the island from the continent and you will reach the seaports of Portoferraio, Porto Azzurro and Rio Marina and Cavo. By Car: To reach Piombino: from North, the highway is A 12 and the exit is Rosignano. Follow the S.G.C. raod heading to Rome; the exit is Piombino. From South, the highway is "Roma - Civitavecchia". Follow the S.G.C. raod heading to Livorno; the exit is Piombino. From Piombino, take the ferry to Portoferraio (around 50 minutes). From Portoferraio, follow the road directions to Porto Azzurro for 5 km. By plain: You can reach the airport of Marina di Campo (Island of Elba) from several Italian and international cities; it is about 10 km away from Le Picchiaie, heading to Portoferraio. From Pisa international airport, a shutle service to Le Picchiaie is available on request and with booking.
