Memories in art: the 2012 edition of the Ravello Festival
Memorie in arte (“memories in artâ€): this will be the theme for the Ravello Festival 2012, the event that in July, August and September, attracts many music lovers in this locality of the Amalfi Coast, in the province of Salerno. A beautiful scenery for an event that you won’t forget so easily.
The Ravello Festival is one of the oldest music festivals not only in Italy but in the whole Europe: the first edition dates back to 1953. And the inspiration was a visit of Richard Wagner in 1880: the famous German composer was entranced by the sight of the coast of Cilento that you can enjoy from Ravello.
For the 2012 edition, the tradition remains unchanged: the opening concert of the festival, as usual, will be dedicated to the musical works of Wagner. This concert will be held in the Auditorium Oscar Niemeyer, that will also host other events of the festival, patronized by the Ravello Foundation.
And guaranteed is another tradition: the concert at the dawn, set up on a stage mounted on a natural terrace overlooking the sea. Yet another event that makes the Ravello Festival 2012 a date not to be missed.
