The things to see in Florence during a weekend are so many: the Tuscan regional capital is one of the most beautiful cities not only in Italy but in the whole world, and it boasts inestimable masterpieces and famous monuments. But we have to make suggestions: there are attractions that you should visit obligatorily.
One of these things is Piazza del Duomo (“cathedral square”) of Florence, the first attraction you have to see in this city: here there are some famous monuments like the Cathedral with its white facade and the Dome of Brunelleschi, Giotto’s bell tower and the Baptistery of San Giovanni.
The things to see in this place would be enough, but Florence offers much more. The next stop is Ponte Vecchio (“the old bridge”), that crosses the Arno where the river is narrower. And from here you can easily reach Piazza della Signoria (“square of the lordship”), dominated by the imposing Palazzo Vecchio.
And your weekend in Florence is not complete if you don’t visit the Uffizi: this is a very important place, where are preserved masterpieces made by great artists such as Titian, Raphael, Caravaggio and Rosso Fiorentino, just to name a few.
And there are a lot of other things to see in Florence, such as the Basilica of Santa Croce, the Brancacci Chapel and the Church of Dante and Beatrice.
